Quality, It’s hard to find.

March 31, 2007

After going through developer after developer, we’ve added a new member to the team. We welcome Cheryl and what she brings to the table. Cheryl has been a developer for the past 12 years on some big projects. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the table and will get Sentinel back on track.

I also wanted to thank the community for sticking by as we went through some rough times. We’re excited on what the future holds for Blogwerx and Sentinel.

Why is Sentinel Taking So Long? Ugh, Coders and Delays…..

March 8, 2007

I have to come clean and explain to the community that has registered, show interest and have been waiting why results have taken so long. First allow me to state that being a start-up of 4 people working virtually isn’t easy by any means. I also understand now why most web based start-up are built with 20 somethings with no families, houses to take care of etc.

So, allow me to explain. Sentinel has been my dream for about a year, finding others to believe in that same dream hasn’t been easy. It’s been a long tough road with people coming and going within that timeframe. That leads me into dealings with people. In a small start-up as some of you will know. Every person is key in what they bring to the team and the project as a whole.

I had found a true programmer, explained the concept and business model behind Sentinel, the business model and what I needed to get it off the gound. It seemed at the time that we fit well together and development started on Sentinel. Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a hardcore programmer, yet I can understand what’s going on and how it should work etc. So, if he was an in the trench kind of guy, I’m the guy on the ground standing at the top of the trench looking in. With me so far..

Time goes by and I hear about Demo a show to launch new companies. I applied not thinking we would get an email back. Well, we got invited. Whooo Hooo………….. (reality sets in) “How do I come up with $18.5K to get there?” Well, I did and that was that.

Time goes by, I “think” that code is being written, I’m shown basic workings and we continue. Well, with Demo you dont get a refund after a point. You lose what you put in. Ouch! Also, not knowing about Demo they have rules that as a new start-up your supposed to follow to the letter. Can’t launch prior to Demo and you must be ready to launch at the show.

Ok, no problem

Well, we have the site done, the front-end of Sentinel done and then……. yes, the main and only guy with the code goes MIA!!  So, I slowly see my dream slipping. I see the money that has been invested to getting to Demo gone etc.

So, that’s why there has been such a long delay in returning results. The back-end is being finished and results will be displayed shortly.

I just wanted to be upfront and honest with the people and community that has show a great deal in what Iwerx and Sentinel is looking to accomplish. This by no means is a sign for things to come, nor does it show that Sentinel will die on the vine.

Once the back-end is completed everyone that has registered will be taken care of.

Thank you for the understanding, I and Iwerx look forward to serving you in the near future.
